Citizen Jim used to think the
only thing a book was good for was propping up a bad coffeetable
leg, or being thrown down as a substitute for second base. Then
he discovered how much money he could make writing reviews for
the local paper. Well...now he has a different idea about
reading!

Brad "Big
Macho Guy" Watson's startling tell-all about his torrid,
two-week affair with the late lead singer of the British rock
group Queen while the band toured Mississippi in the summer
of 1980. Contains explicit material and shocking photos. Jim
has read this book five times, and insists he wants to "study
under Watson" in some graduate program for writers!

This creepy science
fiction sequel to Fannie Flagg's beloved Fried Green Tomatoes
at the Whistle Stop Café (penned without Flagg's
permission; law suits are pending) is a must-read for fans
of Edgar Rice Burroughs and Jules Verne. If you think you'll
be disappointed to learn that the "killer" unmasked
in the book turns out to be Judy Poovey, an unforgettable
character from Tartt's debut novel, The Secret History,
don't read Jim's review, because he lets out that "secret." |

Citizen Jim was
just nutty over this "revisionist" history text
concerning what would have happened if Ronald Reagan had lost
the presidential election in 1980. Among the conjecture tossed
around: Iran would have converted to Christianity after a
non-violent confrontation with the U.S. over the hostages
held there; Ronnie and Nancy would have eventually faded back
into the political woodwork, thus saving the nation from an
eight-year nightmare; and Margaret Thatcher would have been
assasinated, saving the UK from the total ruin from which
it has yet to recover. Also, peanuts would have remained the
nation's favorite snack beyond the Carter administration's
tenure. |

The only reason
Jim gave this book such a glowing review? Because Chicken
Sheets hates it! And Jim loves everything Chicken Sheets
hates, especially when she says she hates a book, then can't
stop reading it over and over again! That's why! |
